Superstar turned politician Chiranjeevi might return to films
Mumbai: Southern superstar and politician, Chiranjeevi, may very soon be seen gracing the silver screen again. The actor, who had earlier stated that he would no longer work in films, has now hinted that he might make a comeback to act in his 150th film.
It has been two years since Chiranjeevi bid goodbye to showbiz after nearly 30 years in the industry.
Quitting films in 2008, the actor had said, "I don`t think I will do any more films. It is very painful because I love that profession. I have been dreaming about it since my childhood and I achieved it. Suddenly leaving my previous profession is a difficult decision.”
However, after launching his political party, Praja Rajyam, Chiranjeevi now aims to act once again. And he made his desire public, at a recent press event for Rajinikanth’s ‘Robot’.
"Earlier, when my fans forced me to return to films, I had said no. But after seeing Robot`s trailer, I may not say no to my fan`s request. Let us see," the actor said.
What’s more is that according to sources, the actor has been reading scripts to finalise a role that will fit his stature.
