Tired of playing a baddie: Sushant Singh

Indore: Film and television actor Sushant Singh is scouting for some new kinds of roles now, saying that he is tired of playing a villain or a "serious person" all the time.

"I have tried not to get branded as a villain or a serious person in the movies. I am tired of this image," Sushant, who came into limelight playing a villain in Ram Gopal Varma`s 200 film `Jungle`, told reporters here. The actor said despite his aversion to doing negative roles anymore, he keeps getting offers to play a baddie. "In the beginning I was portrayed as an angry young man and then I got the tag as someone good at playing a highly emotional character," he said, adding that he can`t help it. However, Sushant said his latest film, `Yeh Saali Zindagi` directed by Sudhir Mishra, has him essaying a different role. "After this film, I hope the directors will offer me different roles," the actor said. He said 80 per cent of the film directors in Bollywood prefer to cash in on stardom, and so an actor`s "ready-made image" plays a significant role. But in the past two years, films starring big actors have not been successful, but those based on a good script have done well, he said. PTI
