Mumbai: Actress Rani Mukerji is set to take item numbers to the next level, as she has not one, but three such songs for her in Anurag Kashyap`s ‘Aiyya’.
"The film is a mixture of reality and dream and Rani will be seen doing three item songs in her dream in the film. Amit Trivedi has composed six songs for the film and three of them will be Rani`s item songs," Sachin Kundalkar, who directs ‘Aiyya’, told IANS.
Co-produced by Anurag Kashyap and Viacom 18, the movie is said to be about a woman who finds a man desirable because he smells good.
Rani plays a Marathi girl in the movie and is paired opposite southern star Prithvi Raj. The director says it is a fresh pairing.
"I don`t know for how many years I was trying to work with her (Rani). Luckily this script excited her. As far as the lead actor was concerned, one of my friends suggested Prithvi`s name," Kundalkar said.
"Prithvi is an amazing actor and both are looking very fresh in the film," he said.
Kundalkar also says the Bengali beauty had to undergo language training to perfect the character of a Marathi girl.
"Rani is very hardworking. She had gone through language training program before starting the film. She was a complete Marathi girl on the sets," he said.
