Viacom18, Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions join hands for Mary Kom, Gabbar

Mumbai: Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions have come together to co-produce Akshay Kumar starrer `Gabbar` and Mary Kom`s biopic, starring Priyanka Chopra.

`Gabbar` is a remake of a Tamil blockbuster `Ramana` to be directed by Krish of `Vedam` and `Gam Yam fame`. The Mary Kom Biopic is directed by Omung Kumar. "We are pleased to partner with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and proud to be add `Gabbar` and `Mary Kom` to our slate. This step reflects our belief in venturing boldly into associations with passionate, likeminded partners to deliver great content," said Ajit Andhare, COO, Viacom18 Motion Pictures. "We are extremely happy to associate with Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, their passion, understanding for cinema remains same as ours," said filmmaker Bhansali. `Mary Kom` went on the floor this week, while `Gabbar` is expected to go on floor later this year. The upcoming releases of Viacom18 are `Bhaag Milkha Bhaag`, `Madras Cafe`, `Queen` and `Boss`. PTI
