Mumbai: Vidya Balan won many awards and accolades when she shared the screen space with Amitabh Bachchan in the much acclaimed ‘Paa’. The actress will again be making waves at the Box Office as she is going to be paired with Big B again in Rituparno Ghosh’s next movie that is yet to be titled.

According to the reports, National Award winning director Rituparno Ghosh is working on a script based on one of Rabindranath Tagore’s short stories ‘Kabuliwallah’. News is that the director is planning to cast superstar Amitabh Bachchan and beautiful Vidya Balan in the lead roles.

In the Nobel Laureate’s story ‘Kabuliwallah’, the protagonist is an Afghan dry fruit seller sharing some fun time with his child customer Mini. If all goes well, then we will see Amitabh Bachchan as Kabuliwallah itself and Vidya Balan in the role of grown-up Mini.

Talking to a news daily, an excited Vidya Balan confirmed the news saying, “Rituda and I have been discussing ideas for the last three years. Let’s see which one happens. ‘Kabuliwallah’ is my favourite Tagore story, I’ve always wondered what happened to Mini after she got married and really went to her sasur badi , and the Kabuliwallah after he returned home to his daughter in Kabul.”

Vidya is currently shooting in Kolkata for her forthcoming movie ‘Kahani’ with director Sujoy Ghosh.
