New Delhi: Director Vishal Bhardwaj is coming up with a hilarious film uniquely titled `Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola` set in Haryana.
Ajay Devgn and Anushka Sharma will be playing the lead roles in the film written by Bhardwaj, who will also produce,
direct and compose music.
The film has been co-produced by Fox Star Studios, Ajay Devgn Films and Kumar Mangat.
"I have had the idea for this comedy in my head for a long time, almost 8 years. It`s a totally new genre and completely different from what I have done in my previous seven films. I was also missing working with Ajay for some time. He is such great actor and an even greater human being," said Bhardwaj who has worked with Ajay in `Omkara`.
"I am so much in sync with him that the wait to be on the
set is killing. As for Anushka, I would say that she is a ball
of energy, the harder you throw her the higher she will go.
Looking forward to shooting with her," the National award
winning director added in a statement.
Ajay echoed the sentiments, saying, "Vishal Bhardwaj is
an incredible director who has the ability to bring out the
best in any actor. When Vishal told me that he was looking at creating a comedy and he narrated the script, I was
immediately excited and became a part of this project in more ways than one ? as an actor as well as a producer."
"Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola is a very special film for Fox Star Studios. It brings together the extremely talented director Vishal Bhardwaj, Bollywood`s most consistent actor across genres, Ajay Devgn and the industry veteran Kumar Mangat," said Vijay Singh, CEO of Fox Star Studios.
Gulzar will be pen the lyrics of the film, which is expected to hit theatres in 2012.
