Vivek and Shaad Ali bury the hatchet for Mani Ratnam’s next
Mumbai: Post the Box Office success of ‘Saathiya’- the Hindi remake of Mani Ratnam’s ‘Alai Payuthe’, Vivek Oberoi and Shaad Ali parted ways, never to work together again.
Even so, when Mani Ratnam asked Vivek and Shaad to come together for another project, the one-time thick friends recently sorted out their differences, and consented to work jointly again, all for Mani Ratnam.
Talking to a news daily, a close source said, “It’s a biopic which Mani has scripted himself. It is the story of a very close friend of his, and Mani wants it to be a befitting tribute,” says a source.
News has it that once Vivek finishes RGV’s ‘Rakta Charitra’, the actor will resume shooting for the biopic. Mani Ratnam has written the screenplay of the film and has made Shaad Ali his executive director.
When enquired the actor, Vivek confirmed the news and said, “I can’t comment on my new film, but I’ll say that playing a real-life character is always very exciting.”
