Mumbai, April 13: Madhumati, a much acclaimed Bollywood flick of 1950's, starring the two veteran actors Dilip Kumar and Vyjayantimala, celebrated its 50th year on Friday.

The film, based on the theme of ‘reincarnation’, was screened at Globus Theatre on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.

Remembering late Bimal Roy, the director of Madhumati, Vyjayantimala said that Bimalda highlighted the fun of her character and also interestingly brought out the dancer in her.

However, Vyjayantimala is not in the favour of releasing Madhumati in colour like Mughal-E-Azam and Naya Daur. She says that she would never want Madhumati to go in colour because a classic just looks best in black and white.
