New Delhi: National Award winning actor Rajkummar Rao stars in Hansal Mehta`s next venture `City Lights`. Mehta has already gained critical fame for his first movie `Shahid`, which did well in festivals and got awards in almost all the big ceremonies across India. With `City Lights`, Mehta offers another gripping story about migration of a family to the glittering city of Mumbai. The movie explores the impoverishment of the rural class, and the exodus to bigger cities in hope of a secure future only to endure exploitation and face the dark side of the city. Interestingly, the film is the official remake of the British-Filipino drama, `Metro Manila` which was released in 2013. Directed by Sean Ellis, the movie received accolades on many international platforms including Sundance, British Academy Film Awards, Filmfest Hamburg etc. `City Lights` stars Rajkummar Rao and newcomer Patraleka.
