We were careful not to make fun of Osama, says Pradhuman Singh
Mumbai: World’s most dreaded terrorist Osama bin Laden might have been a dead man today, but his comic spoof in ‘Tere Bin Laden’, a satirical comedy featuring debutant actor Pradhuman Singh as Osama Bin Laden will always be remembered for the years to come.
Singh essayed the character of Noora, who had an uncanny resemblance to the al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. Noora, unlike Laden was a baby-hearted man busy with his poultry farm and was obsessed with his loyal cock.
In an interview to a daily, Pradhuman shared his experience while working on the film. However, he had apprehensions portraying dangerous Osama.
“Initially, when I had not read the script, I was a bit apprehensive. I was wondering if it would be a biographical role. After all, Osama has been one of the most radical people in the world and also very important in world history,” he said.
The young and very talented actor, who played a character almost double his age worked very hard to get his look right. Moreover, Singh said that ‘Tere Bin Laden’ was a tongue-in-cheek comic flick on the war on terror and not on Osama.
“A lot of care was taken on getting my Osama look right. We were careful not to make fun of Osama. Instead, the joke was on the war on terror,” said the actor before signing off.
