New Delhi: Ever since Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty announced the remake of yesteryear blockbuster `Ram-Lakhan`, everyone has started the guessing game on for the cast of the film. The original movie had the hit jodi Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor as brothers in the film. And who could be more apt then Anil`s nephew Arjun Kapoor to be cast in the stellar hit.
While we keep reckoning the plausible cast, two strong contenders - Bollywood entertainer Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor have been on the fans` mind.
We already have seen the wild energy that the duo bring on-screen, `Gunday` being one such example. Even if the film did not do too well, the two brought true blue Bollywood bromance back on screen. And if they team up together, they might leave quite an impression behind as the modern day `Ram-Lakhan`.
Arjun, who has carried off serious roles pretty well in his past films like `Aurangzeb` and `Ishaqzaade`, can easily step into the shoes of Jackie Shroff as a police officer. Blessed with a rugged look and a beefed up body, the macho man can kill (both with looks and panache!) anyone with style.
Speaking of Anil Kapoor, who essayed a the role of Lakhan, a typical tapori and the immature younger brother of `Ram`, Ranveer fits into the character with perfection. It doesn`t need much to be as convincing as the entertaining Ranveer has been, who has showed his boyish and a jolly good side in films like `Band, Baja Baraat` and `Gunday`. People who know him can relate to him well as a prankster.
So, one strong probability is that the 29 year-old actor can play `Lakhan` naturally.
The 1989 super-hit `Ram Lakhan` is all set to be remade by none other than Dharma Productions, Rohit Shetty in association with Subhash Ghai`s Mukta Arts.
