Baker to write Beatles fanthology

London: A former aide of Sir Paul McCartney is all set to narrate The Beatles story through the words of fan in his new book.

Geoff Baker, who was publicist for the musician and his late wife Linda for many years, is to write the history of the band through the memories and photos of those who saw and encountered them.

Baker has previously shied away from telling the tale of his years with Sir Paul and says ‘The Beatles Fanthology’ will be the only Fab Four book he will write.

The former journalist also worked at the Beatles company Apple Corps under the band’s press officer, Derek Taylor, for the Beatles Anthology project.

He is now asking fans to send him stories, recollections and pictures of the group.

"The fans made the band and they have continued to make the band through five decades - but I feel their crucial side of the story that Derek called ``the 20th century’s greatest romance`` has never been told properly before,” the Telegraph quoted him as saying.

"I`m reasonably qualified to write this book and it is the only Beatles book that I shall ever write."

The book will cover the birth of the band in 1957 and continue to the present day.

"I’m looking for those little moments that may be personal to one but will be understood by us all," he added.
