Entries invited for prestigious `Bheema Balasahita Award`

Kozhikode: The `Bheema Balasahitya Award instituted by Chaitanya, a charitable organisation, in memory of K Bheema Bhat, founder of Bheema Jwellers and a prominent social reformer and social worker, has invited books from writers for consideration of the award.

Speaking to mediapersons here, cartoonist Yesudasan, Chairman, Award Committee, said the committee would consider only such works that would be helpful for the new generation.

The books should have been published during 2009, he said, adding the winner will get Rs 60,000, a memento and a citation.

In the children`s section, the winner will get a gold medal, a memento and a citation. The books written by the children and published after 2008 will be considered for the award, he said.
