Indian writer Shankar invited to Bangladesh

Kolkata: Popular Bengali writer Manishankar Mukhopadhyay who writes under the pen name of `Shankar` has been invited by a university in Bangladesh to speak on various facets of Bengali literature.

He has been invited by the Independent University of Bangladesh in Dhaka to address students on October 20 and 21, the writer told reporters here today.

The writer would be felicitated by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka in the presence of the Bangladesh Culture minister, while a book launch programme has also been
organised.
