London: A judging panel has come out with the 2011 Man Booker Prize shortlist, which is based on the populist concept of ‘readability,’ thereby ruling out some fine literary works.

The six books shortlisted for the prestigious Man Booker Prize 2011 include Julian Barnes’ ‘The Sense of an Ending’, Carol Birch Jamrach’s ‘Menagerie’, Patrick deWitt’s ‘The Sisters Brothers’, Esi Edugyan’s ‘Half Blood Blues’, Stephen Kelman’s ‘Pigeon English’ and AD Miller’s ‘Snowdrops.’
