F1 season 2010 has started with the big two of the racing circuit, Ferrari and McLaren, reviving their fabled rivalry and, much to the fans delight, winning the podium once again after an ordinary 2009. The speed junkies are back in business and the ever so thrilling Schumi always gives one the feeling that he’ll decimate opposition in the coming moments. He is yet to please and that too adds to the flavour of the upcoming Malaysian GP. The first Grand Prix at Bahrain was a dream run for the newly christened Red Demon Fernando Alonso as he raced away to the trophy with his mate Felipe Massa. It was a dominating performance by Ferrari in the desert as the team ran to a 1, 2 victory, dancing at the podium. McLaren opponent Lewis Hamilton managed a third position with his new MP4-25. However, it was not a cake walk for the top three as all the while, Nico Rosberg, Sebastian Vettel and Michael Schumacher were breathing down their necks with just a second’s lag or two. If the picturesque Bahrain desert was a great kick-start to the new season, the second race made it all the more intriguing as it was current champ Jenson Button’s chance to get his first win for McLaren and what a win it was! He started the race from the pole and finished comfortably with the chequered flag going down for him with no competitors in the near vicinity.Renault also reminded the Ferraris and McLarens that they too meant business and Robert Kubica capturing the second spot at the podium meant crowd favourite Felipe Massa (Ferrari) danced at third rank. He was closely followed by team-mate Alonso while Rosberg and Hamilton vanquished after a hard-fought asphalt battle. All this while, the most dangerous racer on the circuit has not been able to mesmerise the audience. Michael Schumacher, Formula One’s most celebrated driver, has not been able to recreate the magic in his silver Mercedes. Looking promising, the 41-year old race veteran will surely be a man on a mission, trying to crack some serious whip on all those who think his days are gone. With the table open for some major reshuffling, the Petronas Malaysian GP, with its 56 laps of 5.543 Km each, is going to be a thriller for sure. The 310.408 km race will see the dreaded Sectors 2 and 3 become the hot spots for that slight edge for drivers, who end at the podium and those who end in a lot less happy positions. With hair-pin turns and bone crunching G-forces being the word of the day, get set for some pure racing fun in the third race of the 2010 edition.
