Delhi: After conquering the world of literature, Salman Rushdie has finally made his debut on social networking site Twitter with mixed emotions. Apparently, Rushdie had an identity crisis of sorts because his actual name has been usurped by an imposter identified as Jigar Gupta. Thus, Rushdie has settled down with a modest @SalmanRushdie1 twitter handle.
When he got to know of his stolen name, the literary giant tweeted, “Who are you? Why are you pretending to be me? Release this username. You are a phoney. All followers please note.”
Having faced the indignity of proving his identity, Rushdie had to answer a deluge of obscure questions from his followers.
Interestingly, Rushdie is not the first person facing identity crisis on social networking site. There are numerous fake Aamir Khan, Sonali Bendre and many more.
