Gurgaon: Author-lyricist Irshad Kamil aims at bringing earthy romance to the country's youth through his newly-launched book 'Ek Maheena Nazmon Ka', which is a compilation of 31 poems written by him.
Irshad, 43, who has penned lyrics of successful albums like 'Rockstar', 'Jab We Met' and 'Aashiqui 2', among others, feels romance is out of the lives of today's youngsters.
"Romance has gone away from the life of the youth. It has become mechanic... You never know when suddenly all the files will get erased. That real romance is missing. My book brings back the goodness of love combined with the realities surrounding it.
"We think romance is very pink but the reality make its black and that's what I've described in the book," Irshad told reporters at the launch of the book here.
Asked the reason behind naming the book 'Ek Maheena Nazmon Ka', Irshad said, "It is a very unique title. A month, maximum, has 31 days. There are 31 poems in the book, with their own 31 windows, which is a kind of preface.
"I feel any written piece, whether it is a poem, a story or any any literature, if you give it even 10 minutes of your day, I feel after 31 days you will feel a change in yourself."
The poet's good friends from Bollywood-- actor Ranbir Kapoor and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali-- released his collection at an event here.
Irshad, who is a regular in Imtiaz's films, starting from his?debut 'Socha Na Tha', 'Rockstar', to the upcoming 'Tamasha', said though the director is his close friend, the duo has creative fights while making any movie.
"He really tests my patience. The one thing I don't like about Imtiaz is that you have to prove yourself every day if you are working with," Irshad said.
