JK Rowling mocks 'Harry Potter' fan

‘Harry Potter’ author J.K. Rowling gave a withering response to a fan who couldn't see how Albus Dumbledore was gay.

Los Angeles: ‘Harry Potter’ author J.K. Rowling gave a withering response to a fan who couldn't see how Albus Dumbledore was gay.

Rowling revealed the sexuality of the headmaster of the school of wizardry Hogwarts in 2007 to much controversy at the time. Some fans on Twitter are still having difficulty coming to terms with the revelation, reports hollywoodreporter.com.

One of the users tweeted to Rowling about her confusion over why the author says Dumbledore was gay as she herself "can't see him in that way".

However, Rowling's response to her was short and dismissive: "Maybe because gay people just look like ... people."

The Twitter user has now deleted her initial tweet, but Rowling's response has already been re-tweeted over 6,000 times and met with universal praise.

Dumbledore was portrayed on screen first by Richard Harris and then Michael Gambon after the former's death.
