Zee Media Bureau

New Delhi: One of the most controversial writers Taslima Nasreen has hogged the limelight once again. The human rights activist was in news recently for having moved out of India. However, all that turned out to be a piece of rumour.

The noted writer took to her Twitter handle and cleared the air over her not moving out the country. She posted: “I often go to USA.To give lectures& to see my family. I havn't left India permanently. Indian govt always provides security. Pet cat is waiting”

earlier, it was reported that Taslima might have decided to move to the US in the wake of death threats from Islamists. After three secular bloggers were murdered in Bangladesh, it was reported that Taslima might be next on their target list.

Therefore, the Center for Inquiry (CIF) had set up an emergency fund to help her with food, housing and means for her to be safely settled, reportedly. Also, the CFI has established an emergency fund to assist free thought activists whose lives are under threat by Islamic radicals linked to Al Qaeda in countries such as Bangladesh.
