Shiney Ahuja, born in New Delhi, hails from army background. His father served in the Indian army and his mother belongs to Kerala. His early schooling was at St Xavier`s School, Ranchi, and later, he was shifted to Army Public School in Delhi, where he completed his schooling. Shiney’s initial career plan was to join the armed forces. While studying at Hans Raj College, Delhi University, he developed an inclination towards theatre and joined Barry John’s Acting School in Delhi. And it was after 1996, that he moved to Mumbai.Before making his Bollywood debut, Shiney worked as a model. He also appeared in a music video for the popular British Asian band `Stereo Nation`. He made his acting debut with the critically acclaimed ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’, for which he also won Filmfare, Screen Award, IIFA, Zee Cine Award and Stardust Award. He became more popular playing lead role in Mahesh Bhatt`s commercial project ‘Gangster’.
