Mumbai: The 16th of May will get registered in the books of history for showcasing a spectacular end to the 2014 General Elections and giving India its 14th Prime Minister.

People from across the country and various walks of life exercised their fundamental right to vote and elect their leader. Many personalities from the film industry too, cast their ballot while several others failed to turn up.

India has elected Narendra Modi as its next Prime Minsiter. The man has an ocean of fan following and as many detractors. Interestingly, the film industry too turned home to two camps one each for the pro Modi and the anti Modi groups.

Actor Vivek Oberoi, filmmaker Ashok Pundit, veteran actor Anupam Kher, Kabir Bedi, director Madhur Bhandarkar, actresses- Ranveena Tandon and Preity Zinta, came out and extended their support to Modi. They were vocal enough about what they felt about the BJP leader. Likewise, there was a section from the fraternity that voiced its reservations about Modi. Mahesh Bhatt, Nandita Das, Shubha Mudgal, Sanjay Chehal, Hansal Mehta, Anand Pathwardhan and several others, filed a petition requesting people to vote for a leader with “secular” credentials and not to someone who was supposedly “divisive”.

Here's taking a look at what the celebs have to say:
