'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' ban: Anurag Kashyap targets PM Narendra Modi, seeks apology for his Pakistan trip

New Delhi: Amidst the ongoing debate over Karan Johar's 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' ban, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has come forward to question Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Pakistan visit on Nawaz Sharif's birthday.

He also questioned him as to why he hasn`t yet apologized for meeting his counterpart Nawaz Sharif.

The 44-year-old Bollywood celeb took to twitter to fire a series of questions and vile comments addressing the Prime Minister."@narendramodi Sir you haven`t yet said sorry for your trip to meet the Pakistani PM.. It was december 25th. Same time KJo was shooting ADHM? Why?", he tweeted.

He further raised questions saying, "@narendramodi Why is it that we have to face it while you can be silent??"@narendramodi And you actually diverted your trip on our tax money while the film shot then was on money on which someone here pays interest."

"@narendramodi I am just trying to understand the situation because I am actually dumb and I don`t get it. Sorry if you feel offended," he said.

Adding, "Btw Bharat Mata ki Jai Sir @narendramodi."

The Karan Johar directorial is facing a huge backlash from some sections of Indian society for featuring Pakistani artistes.

For the record, Modi landed in Lahore on December 25 last year on an unscheduled trip from Kabul to New Delhi to meet his Pakistani counterpart Sharif.

On Friday, the Cinema Owners and Exhibitors Association of India decided to boycott 'ADHM' and said their decision has been taken considering the patriotic sentiments of the country amid tensions between India and Pakistan following the September 18 terror attack which killed Indian soldiers.

The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena had earlier warned Pakistani actors to quit India and said it would not let movies -- including "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" and "Raees" -- to release.

The attack and its aftermath had a spill over into the entertainment worlds of both countries, and while some outfits are resisting the release of "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil", its makers have maintained the movie will release as scheduled on October 28 -- two days before the festival of lights, Diwali.
