Aguilera arrested for public intoxication
New York: Singer Christina Aguilera was arrested for public intoxication but was later released.
"We have no desire to prosecute, none whatsoever. It (is) just for a public safety issue," people.com quoted Los Angeles County Sheriff`s spokesman Steve Whitmore as saying.
"When she was able to navigate and to think on her own and make her own way, she was released," he added.
Aguilera and her boyfriend Matthew Rutler were taken into custody Tuesday after policemen noticed the vehicle driving erratically. Rutler was driving the car.
"She was not capable of taking care of herself. She was incapacitated. She was cooperative. She was not belligerent in any way whatsoever. She was just intoxicated," Whitmore said.
