Mumbai: Actor Vidyut Jamwal, who was approached for hosting the next season of reality TV show Khatron Ke Khiladi`, has praised its previous host and Bollywood star Akshay Kumar.
`Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi` is an Indian stunt reality game show based on the popular American show called `Fear Factor`.
The desi version of the international action-based game show `Fear Factor` had been hunting for a celebrity host for the past two years. After the last season hosted by Akshay in 2010, the makers of `Khatron Ke Khiladi` had to delay the show for want of a celebrity face.
Even though there were reports that they zeroed in on actor Ajay Devgn, things did not work out.
Now, actor Vidyut Jamwal, who played the baddie in John Abraham-Genelia starrer `Force`, has been asked to take over.
"I was offered it. I was approached for the show. But I was waiting for `Commando` to release... It is a fabulous show," Vidyut said without revealing whether he accepted the offer or not.
In 2008, Akshay hosted the show and continued to do it for the next season. For the third season actress Priyanka Chopra was roped in. However, Akshay returned to host it for the fourth season.
"Akshay did a fantastic job, he is the real `Khiladi` and will remain so. There is no other khiladi other than him. No one can replace him. He should do it," Vidyut said.
Vidyut has replaced Irrfan Khan in Tigmanshu Dhulia`s upcoming film `Bullet Raja`. The film also has Saif Ali Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Jimmy Sheirgill and others.
"I have started shooting for `Bullet Raja`. It is a small role. It is a guest appearance. I play a cop, who is a sharp shooter. I am happy to be part of the film," he said.
There are reports that given his martial arts background, Vidyut will design his own stunts in the film.
