Mumbai: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who turned 71 today, has thanked his fans and well wishers for their love and affection.
The legendary actor took to social networking site Facebook to express himself. He wrote, “The greetings pour in from all quarters .. mobile, phones, internet, and personalised .. in an overwhelming gesture .. may I just say, I had never dreamt of the love that you give me, and never imagined that so much shall come my way .. from within the depths of my heart ..THANK YOU !!!”
He was crowned as the “greatest star of stage or screen” in the year 1999 by BBC Your Millennium online poll and has won millions of hearts overseas. He recently featured in Hollywood films, ‘The Great Gatsby’ and shared careen space with Leonardo DiCaprio.
The veteran has acted in a number of blockbuster films which include ‘Anand’, ‘Don’, ‘Deewar’, ‘Sholay’, ‘Shaan’, ‘Shahenshah’, ‘Agneepath’, ‘Silsila’, ‘Namak Haraam’ etc.
In recent times, the actor’s portrayal of Auro, a child suffering from a rare disease named progeria in ‘Paa’ redefined his personality as an actor.
