Mumbai: Anil Kapoor is truly turning out to be an international star. The 51 year old actor, who grabbed the limelight overseas with Danny Boyle’s ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, is teaming up with Hollywood stars Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher for a campaign to create awareness about human trafficking.
The campaign titled ‘Freedom Project’ will have the Indian star proactively promoting the initiative, which is the brainchild of a media firm.
Apart from Moore and Kutcher, Ricky Martin and Peter Gabriel have also been roped in for the noble cause.
Discussing his views on human trafficking, Anil while talking to a tabloid, said, "Human trafficking is as big a menace as terrorism and drugs. Having been appointed as a brand ambassador against it, I intend to create awareness nationally and internationally with the help of my NGO, Plan India."
Talking about Anil’s contribution, a source said, "The media group was keen on Anil`s involvement. This is their biggest project and they will have several collaborators joining the initiative."
"Anil was a natural choice as he has been involved with the issue in India through ‘Plan India’. Though he has shot solo for now, a joint promo featuring the other celebs is expected soon," the source added.
