Mumbai: Exes can’t be friends. That is what the world knows. But in B-town everything is possible. After exes Salman- Katrina and Ranbir-Deepika went ga-ga about their newfound friendship, one would hope that other stars would follow suit. But looks like many are not comfortable being friends with their exes.
Former lovers Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh would easily fall in this category. The two actors who started dating while they were shooting for ‘Band Baaja Baraat’ broke up recently and ever since then have been avoiding each other as much as possible.
Now that the two are acting together in ‘Ladies V/S Ricky Bahl’ they are having to make public appearances together. According to sources, the two weren’t even keen on hosting a segment at an awards function recently, but had to give in as it was part of the promotional plan.
Speaking to DNA, a source stated, “It seems Anushka and Ranveer’s break-up has also come in between their professional front. Recently, when the two actors had to host a small segment for (an awards function) held in Mumbai, they refused to talk to each other except for the part where they had to host the show together.”
Buzz in the industry has it that the two looked visibly uncomfortable sharing the dais on stage. They looked distraught on the stage and stood apart from each other. Their body language was stiff and very formal.
“The wonderful chemistry that the two actors had, was visually missing. While they tried their level best to be professional in their work, the tension between them was very obvious and was observed by one and all,” the source added.
Even though they never confirmed their relationship to the media, they have categorically refused to comment on each other post break up.
“They are now promoting a movie together and both have to make joint appearances. They are professionals and they know that they have to make appearances together. But all of us associated with the promotions know that there’s considerable tension between the two of them. Also, we know that they won’t come together in any future movie again. At least for the time being,” the source revealed.
Or maybe they will, considering Ranbir and Deepika are back to being friends two years after they broke up.
