Arnie, Maria Shriver to split $400m in half after divorce

Arnold Schwarzenegger and estranged wife Maria Shriver will split about 400 million dollars after their divorce and each will take half of the property since there is no prenup between them, it has emerged.

Washington: Arnold Schwarzenegger and estranged wife Maria Shriver will split about 400 million dollars after their divorce and each will take half of the property since there is no prenup between them, it has emerged.
Under California law, when there is no prenup, all earnings and other property acquired during the marriage is considered community property, which means a 50/50 split. Maria filed for divorce Friday and the division of property is yet to be determined. The former Californian Governor’s worth is estimated at 300 million dollars, while Shriver is around 100 million dollars, reports TMZ.com. Since the couple has been married for a quarter century and it’s probably impossible to separate what they each had before they tied the knot, it’s likely the entire pot of money will be considered community property. But the twist is this divorce will never go to trial. It is going to settle out of court, and nothing requires the couple to agree on a 50/50 split. ANI
