Noida: Promotions of new film ‘Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap’ is on full swing. Amitabh Bachchan visited media house Zee News today in Noida to talk about his film and of course the new found flamboyant, but ‘angry old man’ character that he is playing in the much awaited summer bonanza.
While interacting with a live audience, when Big B was asked if anyone has called him ‘Buddha’ in real life, he said, “Often…there are times during shoot when people from the unit say…ab aap booddhe ho gaye ho (Now, you have grown old)…what can I say….main bolta hun - ek din tu bhi buddha hoga (one day you will also grow old).
Talking more about the preparations he had to make for ‘Bbuddah…’, Amitabh said, “Well, as far the look is concerned, my character wears some real fancy dress, he is arrogant and gets angry the moment someone calls him ‘Buddha’”.
The 68-year-old will be seen playing `Viju` – a gangster in colourful, gaudy costumes. He hopes audiences appreciate his flamboyance in the film.
No doubt, ‘Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap’ entirely relies on the persona and charisma of the evergreen hero of Indian cinema.
The film releases July 1.
