Billy Bob Thornton`s daughter found guilty in baby`s death
Los Angeles: Billy Bob Thornton`s estranged daughter, Amanda Brumfield, has been convicted of aggravated manslaughter after her best friend`s baby daughter died in her care.
A court in Orlando found the 32-year-old guilty of the death of 1-year-old Olivia Madison, reported People magazine online.
Brumfield had claimed the death was an accident and that the baby had simply fallen out of her playpen and died.
Brumfield, Thornton`s eldest daughter from his first marriage, said that the death happened at the Orlando home of her friend Heather Murphy in October 2008 after the child hit her head after falling out of her playpen.
But prosecutors insisted the injuries sustained by the child, including a three-and-a-half inch fracture to the back of the her skull and bleeding and swelling to her brain, were not consistent with an innocent fall from a low height.
Brumfield was acquitted of first-degree murder and aggravated child-abuse charges.
Her father, Billy Bob Thornton, has starred in many hit films, including the Oscar-winning `Monster`s Ball`, but is best known for his bizarre short-lived marriage to Angelina Jolie.
