Boxer Vijender ties the knot with a Delhi based girl
New Delhi: Dashing Indian boxer Vijender Singh entered into holy matrimony with Delhi based software engineer Archana Singh on Tuesday.
It was a low-key affair as the guest list included only close relatives, family members and colleagues of the Olympic and World Champion boxer.
Big shots who graced Vijender’s wedding were politicians Rahul Gandhi, Senior BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain and the former union minister captain Satish Sharma.
Gandhi who is a friend of the boxer and an avid boxing fan himself, congratulated the couple on their special day.
The newly-wed couple will be going to Vijender's native village in Kaluwas in Bhiwani, where a lavish reception has been planned. Later, they might also throw another party in Delhi.
The 25-year-old pugilist, who returned to the country a couple of days back after winning a bronze in the Arafura Games, had reportedly been dating Archana for the past four years.
As far as the honeymoon is concerned, Vijender confessed that his preparations for the 2012 London Olympics will take up most of his time, so honeymoon will have to wait.
