London: Her public meltdowns have often overshadowed her music but Disney bosses have chosen popstar Britney Spears to mentor their child stars.
With her troubled past Spears might not seem the most likely of role models but the studio approached her in a bid to avoid another meltdown such as that suffered by 18-year-old Disney protege Demi Lovato, reported Daily Mail online.
The ``Womaniser`` hitmaker had begun her career with the Disney show the Mickey Mouse Club at the age of 9 and her fellow host and ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake has also been asked to counsel young performers.
"Justin and Britney have been asked if they would like to come in and speak to their younger counterparts about the tribulations of being famous so young. The Disney bosses think that if they have people to look up to they might stay on the straight and narrow," said a source.
The 29-year-old hit the big time aged 18 with the song Baby One More Time but went on to spend time in drug rehabilitation, notoriously shaved her head in public and at one stage lost custody of her two sons.
