Mumbai: Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana says that celebrities supporting social causes help in grabbing more attention.
The "Vicky Donor" fame actor is supporting Coca Cola, NDTV`s Support My School, campaign and said: "Since it is on TV, it grabs more attention. It gives more credibility to the cause.
"TV is all about TRPs and when celebrities are involved, more people watch the show."
An endeavour to get better facilities in schools in rural and semi-urban towns, Support My School campaign has impacted as many as 100 schools by providing them with improved amenities like access to clean water, proper sanitation, and sports facilities among others.
Talking about the cause, Ayushmann said that the cause is actually supporting him instead of he supporting the cause.
"We are not supporting the campaign, it is supporting us. The right to education is important and it is a mandate for every school to support the weaker section in the society," he added.
According to the actor, the cause is moving in the right direction and should continue to grow like this.
"We have completed 100 schools and the target is 250 now. The idea is to keep on doing this. We need to think about the future. We need to support the cause," he said.
