Mumbai: Singer Kailash Kher , who was nominated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Clean India Campaign or the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, initiated the task on Monday. The singer took to Twitter to share his experience and thanked the students of the Benaras Hindu University for joining the cause.
Kher tweeted: The PM acknowledged Kher’s efforts and tweeted: “@narendramodi: Bravo @kailashkher! I congratulate you for joining Swachh Bharat Mission in Varanasi. Admirable effort.” Kher is one among the many celebrities nominated by the PM. Actor Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Anil Ambani, Kamal Haasan etc from some of the personalities whom the PM had nominated on October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti). Subsequently, in the month of November, when the PM visited his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi, he began his Clean Ganga initiative and nominated 9 celebrities, which included Kher.
