Comfortable if IMA plans to take legal action: Aamir Khan
Mumbai: Aamir Khan, who refused to apologise to the medical fraternity in India for throwing light on the miserable state of health care system in the country on his TV show ‘Satyamev Jayate’, is ready to face legal action.
While talking to a reputed media house, Aamir said, “I am very comfortable if they (IMA) plan to take legal action if they feel that I have done something wrong. Of course, the courts are available for them. My answer is no, I will not be apologizing.”
“I deny that I have done that (defame doctors). I have the highest respect and regard for the medical profession,” he added.
Aamir had spoken about medical malpractices in the medical profession in the 4th episode of his show based on social issues. The actor also had the MCI chairman Dr KK Talwar on board to discuss the deplorable condition of healthcare system in the country. Talwar had promised publicly that he would take appropriate action against the wrong doers and ensure the body does what it is ideally meant to do- provide quality healthcare and not indulge in malpractices.
