Daughter made me adopt husband`s name, says Salma Hayek
London: Hollywood beauty Salma Hayek, says that it was her fiesty two-year-old daughter Valentina who made her legally change her name to accommodate her husband`s surname.
The 43-year-old actress who is married to French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, had changed her name to Salma Hayek Pinault earlier last month.
"It was Valentina. I didn`t think about it until she brought it up. We were shooting a film and she saw my chair with my name on it. She said `What does it say there?` And I said `Salma Hayek`. And she said `What about Pinault? Why not Pinault?`," said the Academy Winning actress during an interview to In Style magazine.
"And I said to myself, `This is who I am now, I`m starting a whole new life, I`ve never been happier. Why shouldn`t I share it with the people who have been with me since the beginning? I`m a private person but I should let them in on the fact that I`m a different person, a better person. It`s a new life," said the `Freida` actress.
Hayek met the fashion tycoon at a party at Palazzo in Venice, Italy in May 2006.
The couple announced their engagement in May 2007 at the same time they made public that Hayek was expecting her first child.
In September Hayek gave birth to Valentina Paloma Pinault. The following July Hayek`s representative announced the couple had split, but they were to reconcile just months later.
Hayek and Pinault married in Paris on Valentine`s Day last year. Two months later they married again, this time in Venice.
