David Schwimmer to be a father

Los Angeles: Actor David Schwimmer who played the geeky professor Ross Gellar on the cult sit-com `Friends` is expecting his first child with wife Zoe Buckman.

The 44-year-old actor who married the British photographer, 26, in a secret ceremony in June, "couldn`t be more thrilled", reported People magazine online.

Schwimmer had first met his wife in 2007 while in London directing `Run, Fat Boy, Run` with Simon Pegg.

She was working as a waitress at the time and served the actor`s table at the Cuckoo Club in London`s West End. Soon after meeting the actor, the part time model left her home in north London and moved to Los Angeles to be with him and they announced their engagement in early 2010.

Schwimmer who starred in the hit TV show `Friends` from 1994 to 2004, is notoriously private and has been linked with a handful of glamorous women including Australian singer Natalie Imbruglia and model Gina Lee.
