New Delhi: Deepika Padukone, who was miffed with an "outrageous" headline carried by a leading daily with a picture of hers showing ample cleavage, took to her Facebook page to express her thoughts about the controversial episode.
After hitting out at the daily through her tweets earlier this week, Deepika received overwhelming support on the social media for taking a stand against such an insulting news story.
And on Friday, days after the controversy made headlines, Deepika chose to pen her thoughts in a post titled 'My Point of View', the actress wrote that she is "not naïve about her profession and acting is something that requires lots of demanding things" from her. She also wrote that one should understand that there is a lot of difference between 'role' and 'real' and it an actor's job to portray whatever the character is.
The 'Finding Fanny' actress in her emotional yet strong piece also wrote that at a time when women are fighting hard for equality and empowerment in a male dominated society, the media should act more responsibly towards them.
The row began last week after a close-up photo of the actress was tweeted by a leading daily with a caption- 'OMG- Deepika's cleavage show'. The story dated back to a promotional event of the actress' 2013 film 'Chennai Express'. Responding strongly to the story, Deepika had tweeted- “YES!I am a Woman.I have breasts AND a cleavage! You got a problem!!??”.
And now, she took to Facebook to elaborate her stance.
