Different strokes for different Khans for Shiv Sena?
Mumbai: While one Khan has got into the bad books of Shiv Sena yet again, the other Khan has been approached by the same party to be the guest of honour for an educational program. So while Aamir Khan has been invited to the inauguration of the Virtual Learning Education system by the Shiv Sena, Shah Rukh Khan has been tagged as a ‘villian’ by the party.
We all know that SRK and the party have been at loggerheads in the past for the former’s willingness to include Paksitani players in his IPL team. The party had stated that how the actor was being insensitive to the entire 26/11 attacks.
This time the party is miffed with the actor for celebrating the release of Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara’ on July 15 with friends two days after the serial bomb blast that took place in Mumbai.
The Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Samna’ referred the actor as a `villain` and stated, "Even a popular star like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan declined to receive an honour bestowed upon her by the French government. But Shah Rukh Khan did not have the heart to cancel the party."
Meanwhile, perfectionist Aamir along with Madhuri Dixit will attend the inauguration program of the Virtual Learning Educational System. The entire event, organised by the Shiv Sena-run civic body will be conducted in Marathi and will be presided by Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray. Clearly Aamir’s knowledge of Marathi will be put to test at the event but Aamir doesn’t seem to be too bothered about it.
The actor has off late been sharing great camaraderie with the entire Thackeray family. Not only did he organize a special screening of ‘Delhi Belly’ for MNS chief Raj Thackeray but the family was also present in full force at Khan’s nephew, Imran Khan’s wedding reception.
While ‘Samna’ has criticized SRK, it has been all praises for Aamir Khan. A party functionary said, "Khan has been associated with education via his films and has a better connect with the kids compared to other celebrities. He was also learning Marathi and hence we thought of inviting him for the event."
Is Shiv Sena cashing in on the rivalry between the two Khans? Looks like it.
