Mumbai: Bollywood actress Lara Dutta, who has been in quite a few comedy movies of late has said that to reinvent every time in a comedy is a difficult task.
"As I have worked in several comedy films, I believe to reinvent yourself and be different in every comic role is the most difficult task. Even to consistently deliver is another difficulty," Lara told reporters here.
Lara who made her debut in Bollywood with `Andaaz` in 2003, have been a part of several comedy films like `No Entry`, `Bhagam Bhag`, `Partner` and `Do Knot Disturb`.
"Doing comedy is fun but it is not easy. One needs to be perfect in their timings while enacting comic sequences. The timing, the spontaneity and all must be there," she said.
The actress says she has learnt a lot from actors like Paresh Rawal, Boman Irani, Govinda, Arshad Warsi and Reitesh Deshmukh.
"All these actors inherently have a comic timing in them. They all have reinvented themselves in every character they play," Lara said.
Characters like `Munnabhai` or `Circuit` live with audiences forever. People like to see them, they want to see more of that character, she said.
"It was a real task for me to match up to their standards. But after working with them, I feel I have reinvented my sense of humor," she added.
On why she does only comedy films, Lara said, "My audiences like me in comedies and even I enjoy it. Also, I have been flooded with those kinds of scripts. I would be a fool to turn down offers from experienced directors like David Dhawan, Priyadarsan or Sajid Khan."
The former Miss Universe who has already starred in several comedies, will be seen in `Housefull`, releasing April 30.
Lara who worked with veteran directors like David, Priyadarshan, Sajid and others, says, she wants to take a break comedy and try other roles as well.
"I would like to take a break from comedy for a while. I don`t want to stick to comedy I want to try other roles as well. I want to be known as a versatile actor," Lara said.
