New Delhi: He may be doing a blink-and-you-miss cameo in Baz Luhrmann’s ‘The Great Gatsby’, but that doesn’t stop Amitabh Bachchan from walking the red carpet during the film’s gala premiere in May 2013.
Starring Leonardo Di Caprio and Tobey Maguire, the film has Big B in a small role of Meyer Wolfsheim, marking it as the actor’s first ever appearance in an Hollywood film.
According to sources, the actor has given his nod to attending the gala premiere which will most likely take place in Los Angeles and will see Leonardo and Toby Maquire walking the red carpet.
Speaking to a daily, a source said, “Amitabh is very excited about this premiere. It is scheduled for May next year, a week before the film releases. He is planning to attend the big event. He is the kind of figure who is worshipped in the country but has a global presence."
While shooting for the scene, Big B had written that it was a sheer delight to work with a genius like Luhrmann and a host of co-stars with such an astronomical presence in the world of cinema.
Humble as the superstar is, what remains to be seen is whether the actor will steal the spotlight from the film’s leading men, Di Capprio and Maguire at the red carpet owing to his huge fan base.
