Farhan Akhtar to endorse watch brand Xylys

New Delhi: Farhan Akhtar was Friday named the brand ambassador of Xylys, a brand of Swiss-made watches by Titan, for his ‘sophistication’ and ‘individualistic’ values. The filmmaker-actor said he is happy to represent a brand which he feels gives attention to detail.

"Great deal of design thought is required in the making of a film or bringing a character to life. Only when the design is in place, you can infuse it with passion. I feel that the ideation behind creating every timepiece from Xylys has followed a similar process," Farhan said in a press statement.

"It is great to be associated with a Swiss watch brand, which exemplifies precision for detail, uncompromising functionality besides design excellence," he added.

Farhan, son of veteran lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar, is known for directing films like ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, ‘Lakshya’ and ‘Don: The Chase Begins’. His acting projects include ‘Rock On!!’, ‘Luck By Chance’, ‘Karthik Calling Kartik’ and ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’.

Commenting on his association with the brand, Ajoy Chawla, vice president, Titan Watches, said: "We believe Farhan will enable Xylys to connect deeply with the new age, global Indian seeking to express their own identity in a unique way."

Titan launched Xylys in the year 2006.

"The market in the premium and Swiss segment is fragmented with several international brands, hence there was a strong need to sharply position our brand Xylys and target the young, contemporary global Indian," added Chawla.
