Franco honoured for charity work

London: Actor James Franco has been honoured for his humanitarian work at an AIDS charity event.

Franco received the Piaget award of inspiration for his philanthropy and contributions to men`s style at amfAR, the foundation for AIDS research.

"I`m still a little unsure why I`m being honoured, but I`m glad that I`m here and I`m glad that I can help. It`s certainly a cause that I believe in," quoted him as saying.

Jennifer Hudson, Courtney Love and Liza Minnelli performed during the bash for Dame Elizabeth Taylor`s amfAR.
