FTII row: Bollywood slams arrest of five students

After as many as five five students of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) were arrested by the police, on charges of riot and other offences in connection with the gherao of director Prashant Pathrabe, Bollywood has come out in their support.

New Delhi: After as many as five students of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) were arrested by the police, on charges of riot and other offences in connection with the gherao of director Prashant Pathrabe, Bollywood has come out in their support.

Bollywood celebrities Shekhar Kapur, Rajat Kapoor, Hansal Mehta and Resul Pookutty slammed the arrest and took to Twitter to vent out their anger against the move. 

The gherao came amid now 71 days of protest against the appointment of BJP member and TV actor Gajendra Chauhan as chairman of Film and Television Institute of India.
