Galliano didn`t use racist remarks: Lawyer

London: Fashion designer John Galliano`s lawyer has hit back at claims that he hurled anti-Semitic remarks at a couple in Paris and said he is planning to sue them for defamation.
Galliano had been drinking at a bar in the French capital and was arrested after reportedly launching a bitter tirade at two strangers, a Jewish woman and an Asian man, who had been sitting at a table nearby, according to local police. The designer was taken to a police station for a sobriety test and subsequently released without charge. However, Galliano`s lawyer, Stephane Zerbib says it was the designer who was the victim and that he`s preparing to sue the couple for defamation. "There was an argument. Mr. Galliano was verbally attacked but at no time did he use... insults of a racist or anti-Semitic character. We have witnesses to back up his version of events," a daily quoted him as saying. IANS
