Gary Lineker’s girlfriend is “no dumb Wag” says her father

London, Sept 27: Former English footballer Gary Lineker has got the blessings of his girlfriend Danielle Bux’s father despite the 18-year age gap between them.

Lineker, 47, has been dating La Senza model Danielle Bux, 29, for a year after meeting on a blind date, and her father insists that his daughter is “no dumb Wag”. Roy Bux, 50, is just three years older than Lineker, but he is happy with the match as long as his daughter is happy. “As long as Danielle is happy, then I am happy,” a news daily quoted him as saying. “I don’t think the age gap matters at all. “I met Gary when Danielle brought him round and they seemed very well-suited. “They share the same dry sense of humour and that’s important in a relationship,” he said. The model has been, in the past, linked to a string of sportsmen before she started dating Lineker. “She is not an airhead model only famous for whom she dates,” Roy stated. “She was a successful model before meeting Gary. “She was determined to make it as a model so I gave my blessing when she left for London at 18. “Now she is the face of La Senza and I am very proud.” Mr Bux, who works in a fashion store in Cardiff, hinted the wedding could be sooner than expected. “This week she said she wanted to buy me a new suit. I can’t say why, but I’m sure people will speculate it’s for her wedding. “She’s good like that, taking care of her family,” he added. ANI
