George Clooney tapped for BAFTA LA`s award

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles is honouring George Clooney with its Britannia Award, which is named after legendary filmmaker Stanley Kubrick.

Los Angeles: The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles is honouring George Clooney with its Britannia Award, which is named after legendary filmmaker Stanley Kubrick.
Clooney, 52, will be given the award on November 9. The awards honour individuals and companies that have dedicated their careers to advancing the entertainment arts, the Hollywood Reporter said. "George Clooney is without question one of our industry`s true icons. His work has captivated audiences from all corners of the globe, and BAFTA Los Angeles is proud to be celebrating his immeasurable contributions to our craft," said BAFTA Los Angeles chairman Gary Dartnall. Previous recipients include Warren Beatty, Jeff Bridges, Tom Cruise, Daniel Day-Lewis, Robert De Niro, Clint Eastwood, Tom Hanks, George Lucas, Sean Penn, Steven Spielberg and Denzel Washington. PTI
