Gerard Depardieu apologises for peeing on plane carpet

London: Gerard Depardieu has said ‘sorry’ to have spilt some amount of urine on a plane’s carpet despite trying to urinate into a bottle ‘as discreetly as possible’ while aboard. The French actor was on a Paris to Dublin flight when he was caught committing the offence, reports the Telegraph. Reports said that as the seat belt sign had been switched on for take-off with the lavatories closed, the 62-year-old couldn’t go to the loo. So he decided to take matters into his own hands by relieving himself into an empty bottle at the back of the plane but accidentally he also peed on the floor. Eventually, following the fury of co-passengers, the French star was kicked out of the flight with his luggage and told to book another one. However, friends of the actor said he was ‘completely sober’ but desperate to relieve himself. At first he was told he had 15 minutes to wait, but then due to congestion on the runway, he was informed he would have to control for yet another 20 minutes. Taking his ‘irrepressible need’ into consideration, his two travel companions, including the French actor Edouard Baer, offered him an empty bottle as the only resort. ANI
