London: Mel Gibson`s rep has laughed off Arnold Schwarzenegger`s jibe about the Braveheart star`s troubled personal life. The California governor had recently compared Gibson to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
Schwarzenegger recently made a series of jokes at Gibson`s expense as he spoke to a group of utility commissioners in Sacramento, California, about the BP oil leak, which has wreaked havoc along America`s south-east coastline.
The Terminator legend told the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners: "The good news is that BP has contained the oil leak. That is good news... The bad news is that no one has figured out how to contain Mel Gibson."
He also made a reference to Gibson`s personal problems, including a series of tape recordings, which allegedly feature the actor showering expletives at his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.
Schwarzenegger added: "This is why I want to ask all of you to just please turn off your cell phones because we are expecting a call from him."
But Gibson`s spokesman, Alan Nierob, says his client has taken the jokes in good humour.
"He`s (Schwarzenegger is) obviously paving the way for a return to showbiz," The Daily Star quoted him, as saying.
